Growing up in Arvada Colorado, our families bought flowers from Veldkamp´s Flowers. The florist is located in nearby Lakewood Colorado and serves the Denver Metro area. So when we saw the florist and retail shop´s first wholesale order come in we were very excited! It is nostalgic. Veldkamp's Flowers is a family owned and operated business established in 1959. For over 50 years, they have delivered fresh flowers, blooming plants, foliage, gift/gourmet baskets, and artificial arrangements to millions of customers in the Denver metro area.
After WWII, 25 year old Ben Veldkamp Jr. left Holland in search of opportunity in America. With a rich horticultural family history in Holland and Belgium, he went to work in the flower industry and shortly thereafter opened a flower shop in Lakewood, Colorado. Over the years, Veldkamp’s grew into the interior and exterior landscaping business, garden center business, wholesale business and greenhouse production business. Veldkamp’s floral presence has continued with the next generation, Ben Veldkamp III and now the third generation John Paul Veldkamp. The family has carried on the tradition of exceptional customer service with the emphasis on quality product at the best value, making them the premier traditional florist in Colorado.
