It has been two years since we hosted our last letterpress class. We only stopped because our letterpress shop was too packed. We made room again and because we still get calls or emails with requests for the next class we decided to start saying yes! We hated saying no.
Learn and experience a step by step process and demonstration of a real 1930's Chandler and Price letterpress in action. You will learn the start to finish basics of how a project is printed with tips to design effectively for quality letterpress output.
This class is great for graphic designers, artisans, history buffs, print making, and marketing professionals. Also anyone generally interested in the history and modern day brilliance of letterpress printing. It is a fun and interesting process to witness!
You will leave with stationery notes that we will make during the class as well as a swag bag of other popular Idea Chíc letterpress and the skills to create print ready designs. Coffee, water and light snacks provided.

Letterpress Printing Process and DemoSo happy I signed up. David and Julie were well prepared, the class was organized to include discussions and demonstrations of a wide range of both the technical and business aspects of letterpress. Handouts and samples were included. Wonderful to see two creative young folks build their dream around this art form. They designed and carried out this lovely class in the same deliberate and caring way they likely run their business. I wish them much success!

David and Julie are amazing and passionate Letterpress business owners and designers. Their attention to detail and quest for perfection make them unique. The class touched on everything from design to the basics of taking care of such a magnificent piece of equipment. There was never an awkward or boring moment and no question was too silly. The only downside was that it felt too short! Time flies when you're having fun (and learning something new!)
