A Stationery Wardrobe

Many guests at Idea Chic are exploring letter writing and have questions. We are happy to have the conversation. A great resource we have in-store is Emily Post's Etiquette Centennial Edition book. This book provides you with the etiquette rules, which has been updated in this 100 year edition and modernized by Lizzie Post and Daniel Post Senning. Emily Post is the original proprietor of etiquette with her first book release in 1922. We keep a store copy for reference as well as other copies available for sale.

    What is Etiquette?
"Whenever two people come together and their behavior affects one another, you have etiquette...it is not some rigid code of manners; it's simply how persons' lives touch one another." Emily Post

Today we will highlight the different types and styles of stationery options: A Stationery Wardrobe.

    A Stationery Wardrobe

A well-appointed "Stationery Wardrobe" -  consisting of basic pieces such as cards, social cards, note sheets, letter sheets, blanks and envelopes - should have you well set up for any correspondence. What matters is to include the pieces that meet your needs. Personal stationery will have your name, initials, monogram or family name, or crest printed on it. More informal social stationery can use playful colors, fonts, pattens and images. For formal styles, choose simple, clean lines and classic colors. At Idea Chic we are experts at custom social stationery. We can design and print for you in-house.
