Ever since opening in 1946, Mills Pharmacy and Apothecary fulfills their mission to nurture the health of their customers. They have for generations of families. They say some of thier customers still remember the days when they were best known for their selection of penny candies and the long-retired soda fountain. Their reputation of exceptional service has endured because it’s built on a foundation of trust that gets stronger with every prescription filled and every customer they welcome back.
What keeps them coming back is a commitment to innovation and an unforgettable shopping experience. This commitment was brought to life in 2010 when, inspired by the style of the modern pharmacies of New York and Paris, they reimagined both the facade and the products and services provided.
From the addition of a state-of-the-art compounding pharmacy, to curating Metro Detroit’s most unique selection of premium beauty and personal care products, they transformed the quaint neighborhood store into a boutique fit for the most discerning tastes.
Since its completion, the design has received local praise and national accolades, including “Best Commercial Architecture” and “Best Interior Design” awards from Detroit Home Magazine, and the 2014 “AIA Michigan Honor Award” from the American Institute of Architects.
